Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Lingua Vincolata (“the service”). By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What the service is

Lingua Vincolata is an Italian language learning aid. It provides AI-generated conversation in Italian, constrained to vocabulary and grammar you have marked as known, together with a word bank, grammar unlocks, audio playback, and speech input.

The service is a learning aid, not a reference work. AI-generated Italian may contain errors, unnatural phrasing, or incorrect explanations. You should not rely on it as an authoritative source of grammar, translation, or facts.

2. Accounts

You may use a limited guest trial without an account. To keep your conversation and access all features, you must create an account. You are responsible for what you type into the service and for keeping your sign-in details secure.

3. Subscriptions and payment

The Pro plan costs $7.99 per month, billed in advance through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing page or the Stripe customer portal; access continues until the end of the period you paid for.

Pro is subject to a fair-use cap on daily usage, published on the pricing page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that attempt to circumvent limits or abuse the service.

Refunds are governed by our refund policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to attempt to circumvent the credit system, the fair-use cap, or the vocabulary enforcement; not to scrape or republish the service or its data; and not to use the service for anything unlawful. Automated access beyond normal app use is not permitted.

5. Content and intellectual property

AI-generated replies are provided to you for personal learning use. The Italian morphological lexicon that powers the vocabulary enforcement is from Morph-it! (Zanchetta & Baroni), used under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence.

6. Privacy

Your use of the service is also governed by our privacy policy.

7. Availability and changes

The service is provided “as is” and may change or be interrupted at any time. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
